OKCPS Foundation Kicks Off 2025 Coat-A-Kid Campaign

August 6, 2025

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) Foundation launched its 2025 Coat-A-Kid campaign, a signature annual effort to provide new winter coats for students in need. The campaign ensures students stay warm, focused, and present in school during the coldest months of the year.

“No child should have to face winter without a coat,” said Kendra S. Horn, President and CEO of OKCPS Foundation. “Coat-A-Kid is one of the most tangible ways our community can show students they are seen, valued, and supported. Whether you give $25 or $25,000, your contribution makes a real difference. This is more than a coat; it’s an investment in our students and their bright futures.”

This year’s theme, “Warm Coats. Bright Futures,” highlights the Foundation’s goal to distribute more than 6,500 brand-new coats across the district, ensuring every student in need is equipped for Oklahoma’s harsh winter weather. Since 2016, the Foundation has distributed over 60,000 coats, making Coat-A-Kid one of the most impactful student-focused efforts in Oklahoma City.

The Foundation is calling on individuals, businesses, and community groups to help reach this year’s goal. Every $25 donation provides one high-quality, brand-new coat for a student this season. Thanks to continued support from longtime lead sponsor Bank of Oklahoma, the Foundation is on its way to meeting this critical need.

“We’re proud to serve as a lead sponsor for Coat-A-Kid,” said Greg Wheeler, Oklahoma City Market President for Bank of Oklahoma. “This year, we’re also stepping up by collecting new gloves at our banking centers during the first two weeks of November. We hope this added effort helps even more students stay warm this winter.”

Donation Opportunities
The OKCPS Foundation invites individuals and organizations to join the campaign now. Supporters not only fund essential winter wear for students — they also invest in bright futures for all OKCPS students.
