Volunteers Needed: Teachers Warehouse
Smiles, hugs, tears and stares of disbelief. We've seen it all since the Teachers Warehouse launched. Teachers find it incredible that there's a place they can go each month to get much-needed classroom supplies...ABSOLUTELY FREE!
The Teachers Warehouse online catalog items range from basic supplies, such as paper, pencils, glue and erasers to coveted office supplies like electric staplers, three-hole punches and binders. Each month teachers simply browse the free online catalog to find the supplies they need, add the items to their shopping cart, and then stop by our office during Pick-up Days. It's that easy.
We need your help
Even if you only have a few hours per week or month, there are a number of ways you can help us here at the Teachers Warehouse.
- For those whose physical limitations might keep them from medium to heavy lifting, helping to sort, bundle, and count the individual stocks of supplies might be ideal. This requires very little physical effort, yet is a very important element of the supply chain.
- For the more robust individual, we need aid in moving supplies from various storage areas and placing them into bins after they are sorted. Packaging individual orders also requires average strength and mobility. We have put a limit on how much individual bags can weigh to keep us all healthy while packing.
- Helping out during the week that our teachers pick up their order is a busy, happy time. The "rush" is between 3-5, of course. We have carts and dollies to help wheel out the larger orders.
Nothing beats the satisfaction of knowing that our students and teachers will benefit directly and significantly from just a few hours of your spare time. If you'd like to volunteer, please click here to e-mail Robyn Hilger, Program Director, or call The Foundation at 879-2007.
