Why Tutor?
To improve the educational attainment and self-esteem of Oklahoma City Public School students through a sound, consistent, and measurable tutoring program.
Who Can Tutor?
Partners in Education, community organizations/businesses and individuals can volunteer.
When?
Volunteers tutor one hour per week during the school year, at the school, during the school day. (Short-term tutoring & tutoring in all grade levels and subject areas is needed.)
Through the Partners in Education program, metro area businesses and their employees are taking an active role in the life of District students and schools. In the last year, businesses and community volunteers donated more than 42,000 hours tutoring and mentoring students.
The Foundation recruits, trains and helps place these tutors within the schools. A collaboration between the Foundation, Greater Oklahoma City Chamber and the Oklahoma City Public Schools District, Partners in Education also helps businesses support special school programs and activities.
