LIVE GREEN Teacher Grants
$1,000 LIVE GREEN grant. Teachers (grades 5-9) are challenged to "develop innovative ideas for furthering environmental and energy sustainability. Teachers will identify an issue or problem, create a plan to address it, and integrate the topic into classroom teaching."*

A Global Study of Wildlife Migration and Seasonal Change
Through the Journey North Program, (K-5, 6-12) students and teachers study wildlife migration and seasonal change. Students track the coming of seasons through the migration patterns of certain animals and share their field observations with other students across the US. Migration maps, pictures, standards-based lesson plans, activities and information are available to help students and teachers through their journey of discovery.

A Virtual Journey into the Universe
An interative journey into outerspace, this Think Quest site allows students (K-5, 6-12) to learn about space in a fun way. Exploration, surface, interior, and satellites sections are available for each planet. Additionally, students may learn from educational games and informational animations about each planet.

The New York Times Learning Network
(K-5, 6-12)This learning network provides information for both students and teachers. Updated weekly, the site's student sections include: News Summaries, Daily News Quiz, Word of the Way, Science Q & A, Crossword Puzzles, and Who's Who and What's What. For teachers, the site provides daily lesson plans, education news, and many other teacher resources.

eMentoring with ePals
ePals is providing its eMentoring program free to Title 1 schools beginning with the 2008-2009 school year. Students in grades 3-5 select and read fully digital books from the In2Books collection. Adult penpals who read the same material are matched with students to exchange thoughts about the books.
