The education event of the year honors the Oklahoma City Public Schools District Teacher of the Year, Great Idea Team Grant winners, Super Support Staff nominees, Student Scholarship winners, Terrific Tutors, and Perfect Partnerships. The annual event is presented by the OKC Public Schools Foundation, Independent Insurance Agents Association of Greater Oklahoma City, and Greater OKC Chamber for OKC Public Schools.
Entertainment for the event is provided by Oklahoma City Public School students. Past performances included presentations from the John Marshall High School Marching Band, Northeast Academy Orchestra, student musicians from Classen School for Advanced Studies, student caricature artists from Sequoyah Elementary School and much more.
It was all tears and smiles as Heather Sparks, Taft Middle School, was named Oklahoma City Public Schools’ District Teacher of the Year at the 7th annual Stars of Education celebration.
