Arts in Education

Financing arts-related grants, the Arts in Education Fund is designed to improve fine arts education curriculum for students in the Oklahoma City Public Schools. To date, more than $230,000 has been expended to improve arts integration in our schools.
Grants from the Arts in Education Fund are available for individuals, multi-school or district-wide programs and initiatives in addition to individual school and classroom projects and needs.
Grants from the Arts in Education Fund have financed:
- Texas Basic Stage Units to be shared among the District High Schools
- Dalton Potter Workshop for Instrumental Music Teachers
- Drama professional development and purchase of theater stage tools for six high schools
- Provide an "artist-in-residency" for Johnson, Britton, Western Village, and North Highland elementary schools
- Studio pianos, a baby grand piano and digital keyboards for District schools
- A new sound system for Northwest Classen’s auditorium used by numerous schools for arts-related productions
- Teacher training and musical instruments for the Wilson Elementary Arts Integration School
- Implementation of a Recorder Program for 3rd through 6th grade students
- Funding to launch five Oklahoma A+ Schools in our District
