2008-2009 STARS Scholarship Application
The Scholarships for Talented and Remarkable Students (STARS) Scholarship program rewards academically gifted and motivated high school seniors in the Oklahoma City Public Schools. The scholarship is available to students who will pursue a degree at a four-year college or university.
Eligibility:
- Oklahoma City Public School High School Seniors graduating in 2009.
- GPA of 3.25 or higher
- Completed a minimum of two advanced placement or two International Baccalaureate courses
- Oklahoma resident
Number of Awards: Four
Amount of Award: Up to $1,000.00
STARS Scholarships will be presented at Stars of Education in Spring 2009.

- Complete the online application or paper application (Word document). Due by 4:30 p.m., Friday, November 21, 2008 (in the Foundation office).
- Submit two recommendations (print and use the provided paper form or have your recommender complete the online form at www.okckids.com/recommend). Due by 4:30 p.m., Friday, November 21, 2008 (in the Foundation office).
Recommendation forms should be filled out by someone other than family members. If using a paper form, your recommender should mail their completed form to the Foundation by the deadline (in the Foundation office no later than 4:30 p.m., Friday, November 21, 2008). It is suggested that you give your recommender a stamped envelope that you have already addressed to the Foundation, along with the recommendation form. If using the on-line form, recommendations must be completed and submitted by the deadline.
- Mail the following to the Foundation:
- Official copy of current high school transcript reflecting a grade point average of 3.25 or higher and passing grade in at least two AP or IB courses.
- Photograph (to be used for publication if scholarship is awarded).
