Nine out of 10 Oklahoma City Public Schools students live in poverty and nearly 1,900 students are considered homeless. Over 13,000 students speak English as a second language and more than 40 different languages are spoken across the district.
There are many challenges that face OKCPS and the Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools is committed to providing hope and opportunity for every single child. With your support, The Foundation is able to train bilingual teachers, match donations made to DonorsChoose.org, manage the new Partners In Action initiative that connects community partners with local schools and a host of other efforts that are making a real difference in the lives of our students.
The Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools is a private, non-profit corporation under IRS tax code 501(c)(3) with the mission of creating community ownership in the success of every child. All fundraising and investment activities of The Foundation are limited to benefiting the Oklahoma City Public School District. The Foundation receives gifts of cash, securities, bequests and beneficiary designations under revocable trusts, deferred gifts (such as bequests), life insurance, and life income agreements and charitable remainder trusts. Other gifts or donated properties may be subject to review prior to acceptance.
