Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation established
1985
First Wall of Fame Humanitarian Awards Dinner
1986
First grants awarded to teachers
1986
First Spring Honors Luncheon (now known as Stars of Education)
1989
Hard times hit as fire destroys the Foundation's furnishings, supplies and equipment
1990
Initiated Excellent Educator and Principal for a Day programs
1993
First student scholarships awarded
1994
Partners in Education was created - Tutors begin assisting students in classrooms
1995
First TEAM (Together Employees Add More) Campaign launched
1998
Debut of A+ Arts Spectacular!
2000
Project KIDS Steering Committee created

First million dollar bequest from Thomas W. Utterback - Thomas W. Utterback Education Legacy Fund created
2001
Passage of MAPS for Kids
2002
Launched Jean G. Gumerson Endowment for the Pursuit of Teacher Excellence, providing scholarships to teachers pursuing National Board Certification

Marked first MAPS for Kids milestone with purchase of 80 new school buses

The Foundation celebrated its 20th Anniversary

Foundation released report of the Oklahoma City Public Schools, Assessing Progress Beyond Bricks and Mortar; A Report to Patrons of the Oklahoma City Public Schools
2005
Principal for a Day celebrates 15th Anniversary
2006
The Foundation moves to its current location on North Shartel
2006
Partners in Education program receives Outstanding Program Award for Local Education Foundations sponsored by the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence.

Identity updated to better reflect the impact of our work with a new name, The Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools, a new nickname, The Foundation, and a new logo
